Since the company was founded in 1928, Ofa Bamberg has had a clear standard for its products: maximum comfort and an attractive appearance combined with optimal effectiveness. In addition to a wide selection of modern compression stockings, Ofa Bamberg offers a comprehensive range of orthopedic bandages and orthoses. Preventive health products, including wellness and travel stockings as well as soothing heat pads, round out the product portfolio.

A first-class combination of high-tech materials and delicate craftsmanship ensures that the compression stockings and bandages are exceptionally comfortable to wear.
Award-Winning Products
Numerous prestigious awards have repeatedly recognized the outstanding design of Ofa’s products. The elegant Memory compression stockings, the versatile Lastofa medical compression garments , and the Dynamics Plus line of bandages have all been honored with the Red Dot Award.
In addition, the medical device manufacturer received numerous other awards, such as the 2014 iF product design award for the Ofa 3D Scan, the 2016 German Design Award for the Dynamics Plus knee brace, and the 2016 German Brand Award in the Medical & Health category.
: Tested and Certified Quality Product quality is always our top priority, as Ofa Bamberg is committed to ensuring high standards of quality. Recognized certifications and ongoing internal quality assurance guarantee high-quality and safe medical care.
Ofa’s medical compression stockings thus comply with the world’s strictest quality and testing standards: RAL-GZ 387/1 (medical compression stockings) and RAL-GZ 387/2 (medical compression arm stockings). By receiving the RAL quality mark, these compression products can be billed through health insurance providers.
In addition, the products have been certified under the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100—a globally standardized testing and certification system for raw, intermediate, and finished textile products at all stages of processing. This is because the more direct a product’s contact with the skin, the stricter the human-ecological requirements it must meet.
From Bamberg to the World
The company’s roots lie in Zeulenroda (Thuringia). It was there that Otto Fankhänel founded what was then a family business in 1928. After World War II, Ofa relocated to Bamberg, Bavaria. From there, countless products are shipped daily to specialty retailers in Germany and around the world.
In early 2015, the company also acquired the production facility of the textile company Esda GmbH in Glauchau, Saxony. This facility provides an additional 20,000 square meters of production space. With this move, Ofa Bamberg is further strengthening its commitment to “Made in Germany.”
In addition, the assistive device manufacturer is in high demand abroad as well. Ofa Austria was founded in Salzburg in 1994 and has been one of Austria’s leading companies ever since.
In addition, Nea International has been part of the Ofa family since 2015. The company, headquartered in Maastricht, the Netherlands, develops and manufactures bandages and orthoses under the Push and Push Sports brands. Ofa products are used all over the world. This is due not only to the branch in Salzburg—Ofa Bamberg’s numerous international partners also play a key role in its success. The company currently exports to over 40 countries worldwide.
