The German Optical Industry Association provides its members with a regular overview of developments in the industry and presents the most important facts and figures in a clear and concise manner.
To this end, SPECTARIS conducts regular surveys on the economic situation and the development of the industry as a whole, as well as surveys on key sub-sectors and product areas and on international markets.
In collaboration with the Society for Consumer Research (GfK), Euronet AG, and the Central Association of Opticians and Optometrists (ZVA), SPECTARIS provides an overview of developments in the individual specific product segments of the optical industry.

SPECTARIS promotes sales in the optical industry through numerous communication channels. These include:

• A press conference marking the start of opti, Germany's leading optical trade fair, organized by GHM, Munich.

Eyeglasses and contact lenses are medical devices subject to specific regulations. The relevant knowledge is complex and subject to frequent changes in the law. To help our members stay informed, receive timely updates, and enable us to work together to effectively influence legislative proposals, SPECTARIS provides the necessary resources for this purpose.

The SPECTARIS Trend Forum, which we host together with 25 of our leading member companies, is a highly regarded, high-class industry gathering. Every November, between 450 and 550 of the leading suppliers, opticians, and industry service providers come together to learn about consumer and technology trends as well as anticipated market changes, and to exchange ideas within this well-established network.

Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Trendforum 2020 remained a popular source of information for the industry. For the first time, the Trendforum had to be held entirely online.
