Since 2018, the Medi-Tech-Park has evolved into a dynamic and forward-looking hub for companies and partners in the medical technology sector. This innovative campus brings together leading companies such as MR:comp GmbH, MRI-STaR GmbH, MRI-tec, and Innovation & Engineering, which—together with other highly specialized partners—are driving the advancement of modern medical technology, with a clear focus on MR safety and MR compatibility.

The Medi-Tech-Park was established with the goal of creating a place where expertise, innovation, and collaboration come together. The unique concept of the campus and network is based on close collaboration between technology companies, research institutions, and educational partners. This interdisciplinary structure generates synergies that go far beyond traditional corporate alliances—and have a significant impact on the medical technology industry.

Focus Topic: MR Safety
At Medi-Tech-Park, everything revolves around the topic of MR safety—specifically, how medical products can be used safely in magnetic resonance imaging. This is because such products can pose a potential risk to patients. This risk arises primarily from electromagnetic interactions, such as heating caused by radiofrequency fields. To ensure both patient safety and product functionality, as well as to meet regulatory requirements, MR safety testing is essential.

's Core Competencies The companies and partners at Medi-Tech-Park cover a broad spectrum of services and solutions. We focus in particular on the following four core areas:

1. Testing Services for MR Safety and MR Compatibility
A key area of expertise is the ISO 17025-accredited testing service for MR safety and compatibility, as well as for interference and radiopacity in X-ray imaging technologies (CT, angiography, X-ray, beam radiation therapy) for active and non-active medical devices. The tests are conducted in accordance with current norms and standards (ASTM, ISO, IEC) for passive and active implants.

2. Research and Development Support (R&D Design Support)
From the initial concept to a market-ready product, we support development processes with our technical expertise—including, among other things, material consulting to improve the products’ MR compatibility and safety.

3. Training | Education
A wide range of regular specialized MR seminars that reflect the latest advances in technology and science. Target audiences include clinical professionals, MTRs, radiology technicians, radiologists, as well as employees from R&D, quality management, and sales

4. Distribution of MR-safe and MR-conditionally safe products
In addition to technical services, the Medi-Tech-Park’s portfolio also includes the distribution of MR-safe and MR-conditionally safe products. These include medical devices, accessories, and aids that have been specifically designed for use in MRI.

In addition, the partners are actively involved in scientific studies and publicly funded research projects.
