eagleyard Photonics develops, manufactures, and markets high-power laser diodes—the key components for next-generation laser systems. These semiconductor laser diodes originated from research conducted at the renowned Ferdinand Braun Institute, Leibniz Institute for High-Frequency Technology, and are now manufactured on an industrial scale. Founded in 2002 in the capital city of Berlin, this rapidly growing company has since established a leading market position with high-power laser diodes at wavelengths ranging from 630 to 1120 nm. Customers around the world integrate “made by eagleyard” laser diodes into their systems. These diodes are used in industry, the life sciences, aerospace, and defense technology, as well as in research. Product Lineup The product lineup includes ridge waveguide lasers (Fabry-Perot), broad-line lasers, trapezoidal lasers, trapezoidal amplifiers, DFB, and DBR lasers, all of which are characterized by excellent beam quality, high optical power, and reliability.

Research and Development Focus Areas The goal of our development work has always been to continuously increase the optical performance of diode structures, as well as to develop environmentally stable packages with integrated micro-optics for stable and cost-effective beam shaping. Through the development of qualified diodes for space missions such as GAIA and Merlin, knowledge regarding the design of robust and environmentally stable laser diodes has been significantly expanded in recent years.
