The SCHWEIZER company was founded in Germany in 1840.

Starting with the establishment of a glass-grinding shop and the manufacture of optical products, the company evolved into a LowVision specialist and the provider of the widest range of products for the visually impaired on the European market.

SCHWEIZER has also been manufacturing magnifying glasses and reading glasses since 1945. The product line is constantly being expanded with new and innovative products.

Through experience, expertise, customer satisfaction, and—last but not least—the strong commitment of its employees, SCHWEIZER has established itself as the low-vision specialist in the market.

SCHWEIZER was the first company to introduce a modular magnifying system with interchangeable magnifying heads to the global market, and in the late 1990s, it produced the world's first magnifying lamps with LED lighting.

Another world first was the development of a comprehensive line of ergonomic magnifying glasses. These user-friendly products have consistently set new standards for the optical market.

Another pillar of our success is our extensive range of training courses and seminars. In seminars lasting 1 to 5 days, ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians, and orthoptists are trained in the fitting of magnifying visual aids. Here, experienced low-vision specialists impart the necessary expertise in a concentrated format.
